Since the acquisition of Astrum-HR, Erlangen in 2005, it was the first time that the current Lünendonk List considered the total revenue i.e. domestic and world-wide sales of the Interflex brand. The ranking is based on domestic revenues. In 2006, the standard software market has continued the growth trend that began 2005. Not only the revenue achieved in 2006 with system software, tools, middleware and database software (+4,8%) but also the demand for standard application software (+6,4%) have shown a considerable increase over the previous year. According to Bitkom (the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media), the sales revenue in the German standard software sector has grown by about 2.5 percent to 17 billion euros in 2006.
